1. Tell us about your role and day-to-day at HEOR
As HR manager at HEOR, I’m passionate about making sure my team delivers world-class and proactive HR support to help drive the success of the business. My focus is on fostering a positive and supportive work environment where everyone feels empowered to do their best. I’m always here as the go-to person for anything HR related, working closely with leaders and managers to provide guidance on everything from recruitment and team development to compensation, training, and employee relations. I’m committed to continuous improvement, always keeping the employee experience at the heart of what I do, and seeing it as a key measure of success and impact.
2. What initially sparked your interest in this field?
My five-year course in MA Economic Sciences in Poland was incredibly informative, and I’m grateful for the knowledge I gained, but it wasn’t where my passion truly lay. It wasn’t until the fourth year, when we had a module on people management and work culture, that I discovered what I really wanted to focus on in my professional life. That moment, combined with my genuine interest in human behaviour, made it clear that HR was the path for me. A few years later, I completed my Postgraduate Diploma in Human Resource Management at Oxford Brookes University, and the rest, as they say, is history.
3. What made HEOR stand out when you were exploring your next move?
I’ve spent my entire career working in both private and public sector educational institutions. After nearly 20 years in this field, I felt it was time for a change – a new industry that would challenge me to learn, grow, and push myself in different ways, while also allowing me to work alongside truly inspirational colleagues who are not only motivated and committed to making a difference but are also friendly and fun to work with!
4. Of everything you’ve done at HEOR so far, what are you most proud of?
I am genuinely amazed that, after just six months in the role, I already feel like a true part of the HEOR team. Everyone has been incredibly welcoming, and I’ve had the opportunity to build strong relationships with my colleagues, managers, and leaders. I’ve also had the privilege of leading a few strategically important initiatives for HEOR, one of which was the rollout of the Prevention of Sexual Harassment Policy and Procedure. Additionally, I organised training sessions for both staff and managers to strengthen their knowledge and understanding of the topic. It was truly rewarding to see everyone’s active involvement and enthusiasm to participate.
5. What’s key to your team’s success?
The HR team works closely with colleagues across the organisation to maintain and enhance our positive and supportive work environment, where everyone can thrive and be at their best. We support people managers to ensure their teams are working effectively and efficiently. When colleagues feel supported and motivated, the entire organisation benefits – whether that’s through increased productivity, enhanced client care, or better project delivery.
6. HEOR is proud of its culture – how would you describe it?
The culture at HEOR is all about balancing innovation and excellence with a deep sense of care and support.
7. How would you describe to family and friends what HEOR does?
HEOR is a consultancy based in Cardiff and Bicester (Oxfordshire) which provides an integrated market access service, which is a set of coordinated strategies and solutions that help a product (typically in healthcare or pharmaceuticals) successfully enter and be accessible in a market. But the goal is to make sure the product is not only available to the market but also accessible to the right patients while meeting the necessary financial and regulatory requirements.
8. What is your favourite way to recharge when you’re not at work?
Baking for my family and friends is one of my favourite things to do. There’s something about the smell of cinnamon buns, shortbread, or banana and lemon drizzle cakes filling the air that truly warms my heart. It brings back memories of my childhood, especially of my mum, who’s an amazing baker. I miss her delicious treats, and every time I bake, I feel a little closer to those sweet moments.
