Candidate journey

Here’s a quick and easy guide to what you can expect – the process may differ from team to team, but the basics apply…

1. Tips for a stellar job application

Your curiosity has led you here! You’ve discovered who we are, what we take pride in, and you’ve liked what you’ve seen. Now, you’re ready to prepare your application. Here are some tips to help you shine and stand out in the application process:

  • Read the job description to ensure your skills align
  • Bring those skills to the forefront of your CV
  • Tailor your application
  • Highlight your achievements – don’t just list your job duties show us what you’ve accomplished, what you are proud of
  • Attention to detail is crucial. Make sure your application is free of typos and grammatical errors
  • Be yourself! Let your personality shine through in your application

2. Getting to know you – talent talk

If your application stands out, we’ll invite you for a first stage call. This is a friendly chat with one of our team members to get to know you better and discuss your background and aspirations. Here are some top topics:

  • Prepare talking points – have examples ready that highlight your skills
  • Research HEOR – familiarize yourself with our company and projects
  • Be yourself – be honest and open during the conversation

3. Interview or dream job discussion

Next, you’ll have an interview with our hiring team. It’s likely we will invite you to complete a task in preparation for the interview to assess the skills required for the role. This can range from a presentation to a technical task, depending on the role and requirements. This is your chance to shine! We’ll dive deeper into your skills, experiences, and how you can contribute to our team. Don’t worry, it’s as much about you getting to know us as it is about us getting to know you

We’ll ask evidence-based questions. Think about specific examples and remember to highlight your own contribution

The STAR technique may help you respond to questions – describe the Situation, Task, Action and Result! Keep your answers clear and concise. Ask questions and be curious

4. Feedback and outcome

After the interview, we’ll get back to you with the outcome. Whether it’s an offer to join our team or feedback to help you in your job search, we value your time and effort

"My experience – from job offer to starting at HEOR – was genuinely positive! Marie Luker, Head of Talent Acquisition at HEOR, was fantastic throughout the process, providing prompt communication, clear guidance, and a warm, welcoming approach during my first days at the company. I greatly appreciated the opportunity for a two-way conversation – sharing my experience and skills while also having the chance to ask questions and learn more about HEOR when first starting my role."
